Privacy policy

The HASHIWATASHI PROJECT website is operated by the project's executive office, NTT Advertising, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as the “Executive Office"), as a contractor to the “2018 Project to Expand Consumption by Showcasing the Attractions of the Chugoku Region,” an outsourced project of Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). In this capacity, the Executive Office stipulates a Privacy Policy in consideration of protecting the privacy of users.

1. Basic premise
In operating hashiwatashiproject.jp and the various websites on its subdomains (hereinafter referred to as the “Site”), the Executive Office takes into careful consideration the protection of user privacy. Personal information provided by users of the Site is handled appropriately in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

2. Scope of information acquisition
The Site automatically collects and stores Internet domain names, IP addresses, web search queries and other information about access to the Site. Where necessary we may ask users to register their name, address, age, gender, occupation, telephone numbers, e-mail address, etc. Email addresses of senders are also displayed to recipients. Use of cookies (information transmitted from the server to the user's browser and stored on the user's computer in order for the server to identify users) is limited to the purpose of improving the usability of the Site. Cookies do not contain personal information.

3. Purposes of use
The information acquired in 2 is used as a reference for the smooth operation of the service provided by the Site. We refer to the registered email address, address, name and phone number when responding to inquiries or contacting users to confirm information. This information may be transmitted to related departments within the Executive Office, to METI, etc. in accordance with the context of the comments.

4. Limitations on use and provision
Except in cases of legal disclosure requests, cases of illegal access, threats and other unlawful acts or other special reasons, the Executive Office will not use the information acquired for any purposes other than those described in 3. When providing personal information to third parties for the purpose of entrusting some of the duties of the Executive Office to outside parties, the Executive Office concludes binding agreements with those parties requiring them to manage said personal information appropriately. However, the Executive Office may make public statistical information regarding access to the Site, user attributes, etc.

5. Measures to ensure security
The Executive Office takes measures necessary to prevent the leakage, loss or destruction of acquired information, and otherwise to manage the acquired information appropriately.

6. Scope of application
This privacy policy applies only to the Site. When browsing a page on the Site that contains a third-party’s social networking site’s button, the user’s browsing record may be sent to the third-party’s providers. In such cases, please refer to the individual privacy policies of such third-parties for further information.
